Description
The high desert doesn't get any more beautiful than Hoodoo Pines in the Ojito Wilderness just north of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Millions upon millions of years ago, this area was under the ocean, most likely a lagoon separating a mountain river from the open sea--evidenced by large deposits of gypsum. Not far from these hoodoos hikers found New Mexico's largest dinosaur remains, the seismosaurus. Although when the seismosaurus walked these lands the landscape looked nothing like it does today, it's not difficult to imagine dinosaurs reigning this land. In the distance is the Sierra Nacimiento, a small range within the southern Rocky Mountains.
