Description
One of New Mexico's better kept secret destinations is the Goblin Colony, a large collection of hoodoos formed by the great Jemez / Valles Caldera eruptions of the past. The monolithic sculptures are eerie even on a clear summer day. It's hard not to get the feeling someone's watching you in this hillside maze of pumice, ash and sandstone. And, if you didn't know better, you'd get the feeling this was the site of either fringe religious rituals or witchcraft. Believe it or not, this is actually the southern extremity of the Rocky Mountains!!
